A truly astounding achievement again by my incredible team at Air Leasing headed by Richard Grace here doing first engine run this evening on the P47 that arrived in a container 12 days ago inspected/repainted/reassembled - result
A new page from us at Air Leasing not specific to the Grace Spitfire, more of a general insight in to what we are up to. Like us, there's an unseen pic of a new arrival... We also have a shiny new website - ultimatewarbirdflights.com
1988 Nick Grace proudly standing with Red Arrows at Scampton after flying ML407 with them. Roll on to 2004 when I also proudly flew ML407 with Red Arrows at Scampton. That has to be unusual? @rafredarrows@EGXPinfo
33 years ago today I sat in our Spitfire ML407, with Nick in front ready to fly the first flight after his 5 year restoration -Richard was 9 months old -this photo shows Richard about to fly me 25 years on same date to commemorate his fathers achievement
Me entering a loop in 1994 not pulling too hard so I do not black out, due to G forces, but hard enough to fly a good loop in formation with camera ship which was being flown by the truly incredibly talented Pete Kynsey with John Dibbs on camera who did do a brill job!!
The Grace Spitfire Facebook page has poignant photo of ATA legend Jackie Moggridge with WWII ace veteran pilot Johnnie Houlton when we re-enacted 50 years on her delivery of ML407 to him on 29th April 1944
Stunning night photo by Darren Harbar at Duxford 2004. ML407 in full D-Day livery to commemorate D-Day and the significant role our Spitfire had that Day shooting down first enemy aircraft during the landings
