Hispano built 233 single seat Buchóns but only two dual control trainers designated the HA-1112-M4L.

This aircraft G-AWHC is the only surviving genuine two seat Buchón in existence and was one of the nearly 30 purchased from the Spanish Air Force for
the filming of the Battle of Britain in 1968.

It has the remarkable distinction of having been
flown by British and German aces Robert Stanford-Tuck and Adolf Galland who were employed as technical advisers during the filming.

'HC is painted as she was during the making of the movie as 'Red 11'.

This image taken by Darren Harbar is of 'Red 11' landing at Duxford piloted by Richard Grace.

Here’s just one example of what goes on behind the scenes. This is the incredibly talented Alec Kinane painting Contrary Mary..... FREEHAND! ... See MoreSee Less
